Baidu has also confirmed its collaboration with the iPhone maker, signaling a shift in strategy to navigate the country’s stringent AI content regulations. These partnerships are critical for Apple, which relies on Greater China for a significant portion of its global revenue, recently reporting $20.5 billion in sales for the second quarter.

While Apple Intelligence debuted globally in 2024, the absence of local regulatory approval previously stalled its availability for Chinese users. Industry analysts suggest the company is continuing to explore further integrations with domestic firms including DeepSeek and ByteDance to bolster its localized AI offerings. This expansion comes as Apple reclaims its status as the second-largest smartphone vendor in China, bolstered by aggressive promotional pricing and a recovery in consumer demand.
