Ryan Beiermeister joins Founders Fund as partner

Her tenure at OpenAI concluded in February under contentious circumstances. Reports indicated she was dismissed following an internal dispute over a proposed “adult mode” for ChatGPT, which would have enabled sexually explicit interactions. While a subsequent accusation of workplace discrimination surfaced, Beiermeister has categorically denied any wrongdoing, and OpenAI ultimately abandoned the controversial feature in March.

Despite her recent visibility as a standout player in the firm’s “Mafia” YouTube series—where she sparred with figures like Sam Altman and Palmer Luckey—Founders Fund representatives clarified that her recruitment was not a result of her performance in the game. The firm noted that she has maintained professional ties with partner Trae Stephens for over a decade, dating back to their shared time at Peter Thiel’s Palantir. Beiermeister intends to focus her efforts on high-stakes sectors, specifically targeting startups in AI infrastructure, defense, energy, and biotechnology.
