SpaceX Starship V3 launch aborted after engine ignition failure

SpaceX Starship V3 launch aborted after engine ignition failure

Elon Musk confirmed on X that a failure in the engine startup sequence triggered the abort. The company aims to reset the mission for another attempt within days. This technical setback arrives during a volatile period for SpaceX, which completed the largest IPO in history on June 12.

Having raised $85 billion, the company briefly rivaled the market valuations of tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft. Investor confidence has since wavered, with the stock closing Thursday below its $135 debut price. The aborted launch sparked further instability, sending shares down more than 4% in after-hours trading before the price partially recovered.
