Drivers using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto can now access expanded functionality within their vehicle’s infotainment system. Beyond the previous limitations of basic calling and composing messages, the interface now supports listening to incoming messages, dictating replies, reviewing call history, and navigating through favorite contacts. These changes aim to minimize phone interaction while on the road.
Registration requirements have also shifted for tablet users. Following the introduction of the iPad app last year, the company now allows users to sign up directly on the device. While a phone number remains necessary to receive an initial one-time verification passcode, the iPad account functions independently rather than acting as a secondary linked device.
Productivity and expression features round out the release. Users can now share songs directly from Spotify or Apple Music to their WhatsApp Status. Furthermore, the platform has introduced an integrated PDF viewer for web and desktop clients, allowing users to open, highlight, and annotate documents without leaving the application or downloading files locally.
