Employees affected by the reduction will receive a minimum of 16 weeks of severance pay, continued healthcare coverage through the end of the year, and a $1,500 stipend for hardware replacement.

This headcount reduction represents the platform's largest since 2022, when it cut 17% of its workforce and closed international offices in Berlin and Dublin. Alongside the restructuring, the company is intensifying its focus on protecting creator rights. Last week, Patreon partnered with infrastructure provider Cloudflare to block unauthorized AI bots from scraping content for model training, a move aimed at addressing growing concerns among publishers and creators regarding intellectual property in the age of generative AI.
