The new M6 silicon boasts a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU, delivering a reported fourfold increase in AI performance compared to its M4 predecessor. Alongside these architectural gains, storage and graphics speeds have doubled. For professional users, Apple is also offering an M5 Pro variant, which starts at $1,699 and includes 24GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, with optional upgrades to an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU configuration.
Connectivity across the range now includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and a 2.5Gb Ethernet port, with a 10Gb option available for power users. All units will ship with macOS 27 and integrated Siri AI starting September 22. This release follows a period of heightened market interest, as the Mac Mini has become a preferred device for developers running local AI agents like OpenClaw and Hermes. In addition to the Mini, Apple expanded its professional desktop offerings with new Mac Studio models powered by M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, priced at $2,499 and $5,499 respectively.
