Malware disguised as GTA VI demo targets desperate fans

The campaign targets eager players by mimicking the official Rockstar interface, tricking victims into clicking a "Play Now" button. Instead of an installer, the download deploys an information stealer capable of harvesting passwords, cookies, and active session tokens. In some instances, the malware bypasses multi-factor authentication by hijacking the user’s authenticated browser state, granting attackers full access to personal accounts.

While Rockstar has scheduled a highly anticipated look at the game via Netflix this Thursday, no playable builds have been released to the public. With the official launch date currently set for November 19, 2026, security experts emphasize that any site claiming to offer a pre-release demo is inherently dangerous. Users are advised to ignore unsolicited download links and rely strictly on official Rockstar channels for game distribution.
