Life360 adds $8 scannable tags and routine tracking to pet lineup

Life360 adds $8 scannable tags and routine tracking to pet lineup

The company’s shift addresses user feedback regarding the size and complexity of its original GPS trackers. While the new tags function as traditional ID markers, they offer a digital layer of security: the finder does not require the Life360 app to trigger an alert, which automatically logs the pet’s location for the owner. This data remains accessible through the app, ensuring that even if a pet slips away from a rescuer, the family retains a digital trail.

Beyond recovery, Life360 is formalizing daily pet management. New shared care logs allow household members to coordinate feeding, medication, and exercise, eliminating the guesswork of who handled which chore. For users with GPS hardware, the app now generates "Zoomies Alerts" to monitor high-energy bursts and provides a weekly summary of activity levels. To encourage adoption, the company has lowered the barrier to entry by including GPS tracking capabilities in its $99-per-year Silver subscription tier, expanding availability across the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.K.
