Why a 20-Year Veteran Developer Is Embracing Vibe Coding

Aytekin Tank, founder of Jotform, argues that this shift democratizes creation. Where building a minimum viable product once required days of wireframing and tedious coding, AI tools now collapse that timeline. Whether it is a niche app for tracking fitness or a custom dashboard for consultants, the ability to translate an idea into a working tool is no longer restricted to those who can write syntax by hand.

However, this speed comes with significant risks. Research from Daily.dev indicates that roughly 45% of AI-generated code contains security weaknesses. In one analysis of 1,645 web applications built using the tool Lovable, 120 were found to expose personal user data due to critical vulnerabilities. Complex infrastructure tasks—such as payment processing, encryption, and authentication—remain areas where human oversight is not optional.

For entrepreneurs, the most effective approach is to treat AI as an instrument rather than a replacement. The most successful builders are those who understand the underlying logic of software, using it to direct the AI with precision. By offloading repetitive administrative tasks to custom-built scripts, founders can reclaim hours in their week while keeping a watchful eye on the security of their stack.
