Co-founders Antonio Espinosa de los Monteros and David Sancho have spent years refining their approach, pivoting from an initial SUV prototype to the more viable Liux Big. By securing Europe-wide homologation, the company plans to move into production at its Azuqueca de Henares facility. While the plant currently operates on lean management principles, the team projects a capacity of 20,000 vehicles annually by 2030, supported by €16 million in total funding.
Targeting a price point below €18,000, the Liux Big is designed to serve as a secondary household vehicle. The engineering focuses on L7e category standards, specifically avoiding the fragility common in smaller, lighter competitors. With over 7,500 people on the waiting list, the startup is leveraging its proprietary biocomposite bodywork and modular maintenance design to differentiate itself from mass-produced imports. Rather than competing solely on size, Liux is positioning the vehicle as a durable, sustainable alternative for urban commuters, while keeping options open for potential B2B fleet partnerships.
