AIR Secures $50 Million to Secure the AI Software Supply Chain

Founded by Yair Saban and Niv Hoffman, veterans of Israel’s Unit 8200, the company provides a platform that discovers active agents and enforces security protocols on their external connections. The startup closed two funding rounds in rapid succession—$10 million led by Sequoia and $40 million led by Greenoaks. Their technology functions as an enforcement layer, intercepting agent actions to ensure they only utilize software components that pass rigorous security vetting.

Saban draws a direct parallel to the evolution of computer drivers in the early 2000s, where a lack of digital signatures once invited widespread system vulnerabilities. AIR maintains a whitelist of approved tools, currently filtering out roughly 27% of the plugins it analyzes for malicious behavior or potential compromise. While competitors like Noma Security and Zenity also occupy this space, the firm claims its advantage lies in continuous, real-time re-verification rather than static scanning. With over 20 customers already onboard—primarily in the financial and pharmaceutical sectors—the company intends to use the capital to scale its research team and expand its presence across the U.S. and Europe.
