Google integrates Gemini AI across Gmail, Docs, and Keep

In Gmail, the Gemini-powered assistant replaces traditional search bars, allowing users to ask specific questions about their inbox contents while displaying a live transcript of the interaction. Within Docs, the assistant generates initial drafts based on user descriptions, drawing context from Drive, Gmail, and the web. Keep functions as a voice-activated scratchpad, capable of organizing complex lists or recipes from spoken instructions.

Access to these capabilities is gated by subscription tiers. Gmail Live is currently available to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra customers, while Docs and Keep Live are reserved for Pro and Ultra users. Google intends to expand these features to Workplace Business clients in the near future. This release follows a series of recent voice-centric updates, including the Rambler dictation tool for Pixel 11 and the Gemini 3.5 Transcribe model, signaling a broader push to automate document creation and information management through speech.
