Google Gemini Spark gains control over Google Photos library

The new functionality, announced by Google Photos lead Shimrit Ben-Yair, will roll out over the coming weeks to Gemini AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the United States. Users can activate the feature by connecting their Google Photos account to Gemini and toggling the Spark switch within the app interface. While the current release is limited to English-language users, Google has not confirmed a timeline for international expansion.

This update highlights the industry’s ongoing struggle to prove the necessity of consumer-facing AI. By automating the organization of massive photo collections, Google aims to provide tangible utility where previous AI promises have felt abstract.
