The tool is now live for users in the U.S., Brazil, and India, following an initial Android-only release in June. By scanning existing images, the AI identifies specific garments—categorizing them into tops, bottoms, and accessories—to help users mix and match pieces into new ensembles. Google maintains that this wardrobe data remains private and will not be shared with third-party retailers.
This launch coincides with several broader updates to the Google Photos suite. Users now have access to improved markup tools, including a redaction pen for blurring sensitive information and enhanced font options for text overlays. Additionally, Android users are receiving "Moods," a new set of filters designed to replicate the aesthetic of 35mm film and early 2000s digital cameras. Advanced AI editing features, such as the Gemini Spark prompt-based tool, remain restricted to users with a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription.
