Beyond cloud computing, Amazon is aggressively scaling its retail and logistics operations to fend off local quick-commerce rivals like Blinkit and Swiggy’s Instamart. The company plans to launch over 20 fulfillment centers and 100 last-mile delivery stations this year, alongside an expansion of its Amazon Now service into more than 300 cities. These efforts arrive as competitors, most notably Walmart-owned Flipkart, move to secure their own logistics dominance with plans to open 1,500 micro-fulfillment centers by 2026.
