How the Korpal Brothers Are Scaling the Golden Chick Empire

The Korpals cut their teeth in the fast-food industry long before joining Golden Chick, spending their youth managing 22 Subway franchises across Southeast Texas. After exiting the apartment real estate market with significant capital, they pivoted back to franchising, signing a 13-unit development deal for the Houston region. Their debut location in Port Arthur shattered internal brand records, generating over $120,000 in its first week as traffic spilled from the parking lot onto the highway.

Howard Terry, CMO of the 250-location chain, credits the brothers' hands-on management style for their rapid success in a crowded market. Terry noted that the brand’s ability to compete with larger rivals hinges on this level of operational intensity, stating he would clone the pair if the system allowed. By applying the high-volume discipline learned from their parents' Subway empire, the Korpals have turned a regional chicken concept into a major growth vehicle for the Texas market.
