Ross Duffer

Ross Dufferis an American writer, director, and producer best known as the co-creator of Netflix’s landmark science-fiction series Stranger Things. Working closely with his twin brother Matt Duffer, Ross helped develop the show’s distinctive blend of supernatural mystery, emotional storytelling, and 1980s pop-culture nostalgia, which premiered in 2016 and became a defining hit of the streaming era.

Raised in North Carolina, Duffer began making short films with his brother at a young age, nurturing an early passion for genre storytelling. The twins later studied film production at Chapman University, where they refined their collaborative approach before moving into professional television work. Prior to Stranger Things, Ross Duffer worked as a writer and executive producer on the thriller series Wayward Pines.
