Slate Auto partners with Crayola for customizable EV truck wraps

The collaboration marks Crayola’s first foray into the automotive industry. Beyond the vinyl wrap, buyers who select these colors receive a matching key fob and a 'Slatelet,' a decorative art piece designed to snap onto the truck’s dashboard. While the company remains tight-lipped about future partnerships, the move aligns with Slate’s broader business model of selling a $24,950 base model that owners can modify with accessories and decals.

Slate Auto emerged from stealth in April 2025 and is currently accepting pre-orders for its two-seat truck, which can be configured into a five-seater SUV for $29,950. While the company has yet to initiate its first vehicle deliveries, it is already positioning itself as a platform for creators, having recently collaborated with NYC-based artist Max Kolo. A company spokesperson confirmed that Slate intends to continue welcoming makers and partners, hinting that the Crayola collection is merely the start of a revolving catalog of design options.
