Microsoft Deploys Record 570 Security Patches Driven by AI Scanning

The company’s latest monthly update, traditionally known as Patch Tuesday, reflects a shift in how the software giant manages its aging codebase. Among the critical fixes are two vulnerabilities already under active exploitation. One flaw allows attackers to escalate privileges to system administrator status on Windows Server, while a second bug in SharePoint has prompted an urgent warning from CISA, as hackers are actively using it to compromise sensitive organizational data.

Windows boss Pavan Davuluri recently confirmed that the increased volume of fixes is a direct result of integrating AI into the discovery process. By deploying advanced models to crawl through software architecture that in some cases dates back decades, Microsoft is identifying security gaps that previously remained hidden. While this leads to a higher frequency of updates for end users and IT departments, it highlights a broader trend in the industry where defensive AI is being leveraged to clean up technical debt at an unprecedented scale.
