Simile Reaches $2 Billion Valuation Following Rapid Funding Surge

The latest round was led by Greenoaks, with renewed participation from Index Ventures, Hanabi, Bain Capital Ventures, A*, Factory, and Definition. CVS Health Ventures also joined the raise, underscoring its dual role as both an investor and a marquee customer for the platform. Founded by Stanford PhD graduate Joon Sung Park, the company builds upon his academic work on autonomous AI agents capable of mimicking complex human social behaviors.

While the company’s ambitious goal of simulating the entire global population faces skepticism regarding the inherent unpredictability of human decision-making, the tech has found a niche in product development and marketing research. This trend reflects a broader market shift, evidenced by competitors like Aaru, which recently achieved a $1 billion valuation. For investors, these platforms represent a high-stakes bet on the ability of synthetic environments to replace traditional, slower forms of consumer testing.
