Jersey Mike’s has successfully captured market share from competitors like Jimmy John’s, while the industry giant Subway has seen sales slide as consumers favor traditional sandwiches over more expensive bowl-based concepts. Blackstone, which acquired the company for approximately $8 billion last year, maintains 68% of the voting power. Following a leadership transition in April, former Wingstop executive Charlie Morrison now serves as CEO, while Cancro transitioned to the role of chairman. Shares began trading Thursday on the NYSE under the ticker JMKE.
