Anthropic secures $10B compute deal with Volta

Anthropic secures $10B compute deal with Volta

The venture relies on a strategic partnership with Bitdeer, a crypto-mining firm tasked with developing a data center in Norway. This facility will command 133 megawatts of power and feature Nvidia’s cutting-edge Vera Rubin chip architecture. As a member of Nvidia’s Cloud Partner program, Volta is positioning itself as a critical piece of the hardware supply chain for high-end AI research.

Anthropic remains locked in a high-stakes race for infrastructure supremacy. The company has aggressively pursued compute capacity throughout the year, recently finalizing agreements with Amazon and SpaceX. By securing this long-term commitment from Volta, Anthropic intends to maintain its competitive edge against rivals who are similarly scrambling to lock down Nvidia’s latest hardware.
