Framework reveals customer data breach following Metabase hack

Framework spokesperson Eric Schumacher confirmed the incident affects all customers, though the company declined to provide an exact count of those impacted. While the scale of the leak remains unconfirmed, industry estimates suggest the niche manufacturer has sold hundreds of thousands of devices to date.

The intrusion originated from a zero-day exploit targeting Metabase’s cloud servers. Hackers leveraged this flaw to gain unauthorized access to internal databases, including Framework’s specific cloud instance. Exposed data includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical mailing addresses. Framework’s internal investigation determined that while personal contact details were compromised, customer payment information remained untouched during the attack. Metabase has acknowledged the breach on its official site, citing an unknown security vulnerability, but has yet to provide further comment on the scope of the incident.
