Reach Capital Closes $265 Million Fund V for AI-Driven Impact

The firm, which previously backed companies like Replit and ClassDojo, will target early-stage investments ranging from $1 million to $10 million. General partner Jomayra Herrera noted that the fundraising process concluded in under six months, driven by strong commitment from existing limited partners, including the LEGO Foundation and the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions.

Reach Capital’s success highlights a shift in the venture landscape, where capital increasingly gravitates toward specialized funds rather than generalist managers. This trend mirrors broader market data from PitchBook and the National Venture Capital Association, showing that established, sector-focused firms continue to dominate fundraising. With a proven track record in edtech and impact investing, the firm maintains its thesis that AI should augment human capacity rather than replace it. The new fund follows a $215 million raise in 2023 and arrives on the heels of the firm's successful exit from GPTZero, which was acquired earlier this year.
