Plaud’s new earphones integrate eSIM for standalone AI access

The Plaud One mirrors the minimalist design of Apple’s AirPods but packs specialized hardware designed for productivity. The case functions as a standalone recording hub, capable of capturing in-person conversations from up to five meters away. The system provides 12mm drivers and active noise cancellation, with a total battery capacity allowing for 25 hours of recording time when combined with the charging case.

Beyond basic audio capture, the company is betting on its software ecosystem. Once conversations are transcribed, Plaud’s AI agent can generate follow-up emails, documents, or presentations, with direct integrations into tools like Slack, Notion, Gmail, and Google Calendar. CEO Nathan Xu frames the device as a necessary evolution for AI interaction, arguing that a socially acceptable, always-ready wearable is the missing link for effective human-AI communication. The company is currently developing agentic capabilities, which will launch alongside a credit-based system for advanced tasks, with early adopters receiving $200 in credits.

Despite hitting an annual run-rate revenue of $100 million in June, Plaud faces stiff competition from established audio brands and specialized rivals like Anker and Viaim. To gauge market appetite, the company is limiting the initial release of the Plaud One. Pre-orders are open at $249, with shipments scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. Users will receive 300 minutes of transcription per month, with additional usage plans starting at $8.33 per month billed annually.
