Meta Integrates AI Agents into WhatsApp Business Configuration

The new WhatsApp Business Tools MCP server bridges the gap between AI coding assistants and Meta’s infrastructure. Previously, developers endured a tedious workflow involving the Developer Console, Meta’s Business Manager, and scattered API documentation. Now, an agent can manage the entire onboarding lifecycle, from creating business accounts to registering for the Cloud API and verifying compliance with Terms of Service.

Beyond initial setup, these agents assist in drafting and refining messaging templates, testing webhooks, and monitoring payment methods. Meta is also encouraging the use of its existing Social Technologies MCP in tandem, which provides agents with direct access to API documentation for troubleshooting errors. This expansion places Meta alongside companies like GitHub, Stripe, and Salesforce, all of which have adopted the Model Context Protocol to allow AI agents to interact securely with their internal services.
