OnTrac Challenges Logistics Giants with AI and Seven-Day Delivery

OnTrac has aggressively expanded from its regional origins, reporting a 40 percent year-on-year increase in its shipper base throughout 2025. The company currently services eight of the top 10 ecommerce firms, leveraging a coast-to-coast infrastructure that enables significant cost savings compared to traditional economy services. By operating every day of the week, the carrier avoids the common logistical bottleneck where weekend packages remain stagnant until Monday.

To differentiate its service beyond mere speed, the company is deploying a "Perfect Delivery Rate" (PDR) system. This approach tracks 17 distinct metrics across a package's journey, aiming to provide near-real-time visibility into delivery performance. Brown argues that while established rivals are hampered by legacy "tech debt," OnTrac is transitioning to an AI-enabled codebase. This technical shift is intended to grant the firm the agility to implement customer-requested changes during business reviews.

Brown emphasizes that this operational shift is supported by a culture of accountability. By integrating operations teams directly into client relationships and enforcing high performance standards, he aims to maintain a competitive edge. For Brown, success in a crowded market comes down to a fundamental drive: the refusal to lose.
