Founder Carlo Edoardo Ferraris, previously of tech accessories firm Rolling Square, developed the device to address the friction of current mobile interactions. The ring allows users to trigger tasks—such as scheduling, note-taking, or device control—by speaking directly into the wearable. At launch, the device will interface with a broad ecosystem of AI models, including ChatGPT, Claude, Grokbot, and Meta’s Muse. Responses are routed through connected headphones, iPhone Live Activities, or the proprietary NatureOS app.
Beyond its AI capabilities, the ring functions as a comprehensive health tracker. It monitors heart rate, HRV, sleep stages, and skin temperature, matching the core feature sets of industry incumbents like Oura and Samsung. Ferraris argues that the device distinguishes itself by shrinking high-end health sensors and voice-processing hardware into a compact form factor that boasts 6 to 12 days of battery life.
To drive early adoption, Natura is pricing the ring at $99, significantly lower than its manufacturing costs might otherwise dictate. This introductory phase will be followed by a $9 monthly subscription after an initial three-to-six-month trial. Pre-orders open next month, with shipments scheduled for late 2024 or early 2025. Ferraris envisions a future where the ring replaces screen-heavy tasks, positioning the device as the primary interface for an increasingly agent-driven digital life.
