Index Ventures secures $2 billion to bolster seed and growth bets

The firm allocated $400 million toward a dedicated seed-stage fund and $900 million for its core venture vehicle. An additional $700 million was funneled into a growth fund established earlier this year. Despite the significant influx, the 30-year-old firm has avoided the aggressive fund-size inflation seen among many industry peers.

Recent exits have cemented the firm’s reputation. Index’s early entry into Wiz—where it held a 12% stake—positioned it to reap substantial returns from the Alphabet sale. This follows a strong exit trajectory for Figma, another early-stage success. The firm is now shifting its focus toward artificial intelligence, with capital deployed into Anthropic, robotics firm Physical Intelligence, and the inference platform Fireworks AI.
