Simultaneously, Joby Aviation is diversifying its business model by acquiring Resonant Sciences for $500 million. The move establishes a dedicated defense unit, Joby Defense, allowing the company to leverage its radio frequency and sensor expertise while continuing its primary mission of certifying electric air taxis for urban transport.
